THE OPPORTUNITY
Job Overview
Diesel Mechanic required for the Steelpoort Burgersfort area with;
YOUR ROLE
Responsibilities
o Grade 12
o Trade Tested Diesel Mechanical / Earthmoving Mechanic
o 3 years’ experience as a Diesel Mechanic
o Competent B
o Underground mining and TMM experience
o Medically fit
o Vehicle inspection
o Engine repairs and overhaul
o Routine maintenance
o Diagnosis and troubleshooting
o Hydraulic system maintenance
o Welding and fabrication
o Record keeping
o Safety compliance
o Customer interaction
o Training and mentorship
o Maintain, service and repairs all diesel-powered vehicles, equipment and machinery to ensure reliable and efficient operations.
o Arrange and request all spares required in a pro-active manner
o Breakdown maintenance on surface
o Inspecting of machines
o Sign-off inspections, reports, get approval from mine supervisors and hand-in to the chargehand
o Safety talks
o Follow and adhere to all mine rules and procedures
o Identify training needs of people on site and communicate with charge hand and contracts manager
